Two companies that would have previously been thought of as the two least likely to end up in court are set to do exactly that as sports card makers Panini are taking porn site Bang Bros to task.
Panini has filed a lawsuit this week, making claims of Bang Bros using their trademarks without permission.
The sports card creators have alleged that the porn site bought the domain BangBros.cards and are selling cards showcasing adult-themed photos while bearing Panini trademarks.

Barstool Sports claims to have contacted Bang Bros back in February (Wow BTW) to ask whether were the ones making the cards. Apparently, the company’s office isn’t that hard to reach, but they did confirm that they had no involvement.
Now, Panini is claiming that they are.
Attorney Paul Lesko explains the whole thing in the following thread.
Given that Bang Bros has denied making the cards – why would they if they did make them? It appears an entirely different seller bought the domain and has been making money off it while leaving Bang Bros to take the blame. To be fair, it’s an excellent idea, except for all of the legal stuff.
It also appears Panini hasn’t realized literally anyone could purchase the BangBros.Cards domain, whether or not they’re affiliated with the porn site.
They may very well be suing the wrong people. But they should find out in due time.
