Reagan International Airport is the unfortunate site of a recovery effort after American Airlines Flight 5342 collided with a Black Hawk helicopter on Wednesday night.
According to the FAA, an Army Black Hawk helicopter collided with a 60-passenger flight, landing at DCA midair.
Rescuers are still in the Potomac River trying to find survivors, but all hope might be lost.
Millions are still trying to wrap their heads around the fact that a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter would be flying so low near a major airport.
One person who was on a flight just last week thought it was weird as well, and decided to record that moment from his place, which showed several Black Hawk helicopters not too far from his passenger plane.
I took this video 6 days ago leaving Reagan International Airport and thought it was kind of crazy seeing these choppers right next to us. I wonder if it was something like this that caused the collision tonight. pic.twitter.com/0I2GGTM7hS

The midair collision occurred as the passenger jet was approaching to land at Reagan.
Everybody is presumed deceased since anybody who survived the initial crash would’ve more than likely succumbed to the freezing cold river temperatures.
