Fans will witness two of the most significant players of the 2010s play for one squad this summer when Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors and LeBron James join Squad USA. Curry will debut for the country at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
James, meanwhile, makes his fourth career comeback to Team USA. Fans have long been curious to witness the four-time champion play next to Curry. During the previous year’s trade deadline, the Warriors inquired about a potential LeBron deal from the Los Angeles Lakers. But the player was not receptive.
The former NBA player and father of the Warriors star Dell launched his podcast “Heat Check” on Thursday. In the first episode, they discussed Curry playing alongside James. James has previously identified Steph Curry as the person he prefers to join up with. For the international competition, the all-time three-point shooting leader is also excited to share a locker room with the top player of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Steph Curry said: “Obviously, you just want to play around greatness and see that kind of talent on display every single night. That’d be interesting. Maybe we’ll get that, not in the NBA, maybe on a team USA type vibe.”
James and Curry were included in the final team that will compete in the Summer Olympics in France. They’ve partnered with some of the NBA’s top players, including Jayson Tatum, Paul George, and Kevin Durant. The athletes chose to join the national squad to exact revenge on Team USA following their defeat in the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
