Luigi Mangione, the man arrested with last week’s killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, was told to keep quiet in court this week.
Mangione is charged with murder in New York in connection with the Dec. 4 shooting outside the New York Hilton Midtown in Manhattan.
On Tuesday, as he was being taken into court by law enforcement officers, he could be seen yelling a message to members of the media.
Luigi Mangione could be heard saying, “It’s completely out of touch! It’s an insult to the intelligence of the American people!”
Mangione’s hands were handcuffed behind his back as one cop held his right arm while ushering him from a police vehicle into the courthouse. A few more officers would intervene to help usher him into the building while he screamed.
Because of his outburst, Luigi Mangione’s lawyer told him in court to “don’t say a word.”
Mangione’s attorney, Tom Dickey, also told him, “I’ll do the talking” during this week’s hearing.

Regarding his outburst, Dickey said his client was “agitated” by how he was being treated.
“He’s irritated, agitated about what’s happening to him and what he’s being accused of,” Dickey told CNN. “He never had any legal representation until he walked into that building yesterday.”
Luigi Mangione’s Freedom Came To An End Over McDonald’s Breakfast
Luigi Mangione may still be on the run if he did not try and eat breakfast at McDonald’s this week.
Up to $60,000 in rewards from the FBI and the Crime Stoppers program had been offered to anyone calling in a tip that led to a breakthrough in finding him.
Mangione, a 26-year-old Ivy League graduate from a prominent Maryland real estate family, was arrested in the restaurant after a store employee called 911. He was informed by a customer in the restaurant who thought the guy matched the description of the suspect in Thompson’s killing.
Cops showed up, and Mangione was arrested after a line of questioning caught him in several lies.
Now, he may never experience freedom ever again.
