The short-handed Golen State Warriors had everything going against them heading into Game 3 with the suspension of Draymond Green, but they earned a wire-to-wire 114-97 Game 3 win over the Kings at home Thursday to cut Sacramento’s lead in their first-round to 2-1.
Draymond Green watched from home as he was suspended without pay for stepping on the chest of Domantas Sabonis in the fourth quarter of Monday’s Game 2 at Golden 1 Center. The Warriors also were without key defensive stopper Gary Payton II after the guard became ill Wednesday.
Curry shot 12 for 25 with six 3s while Andrew Wiggins added 20 points and seven rebounds for the Warriors, who never trailed in the game.
After the contest was decided, fans were still on edge as footage shows Kings and Warriors fans getting into a massive brawl outside the arena.
The Warriors will now try to even the best-of-seven series in Game 4 on Sunday back on their home court at Chase Center.
As expected, Sabonis, who grabbed Green’s foot during the play in question, was booed at every chance. He had 14 rebounds by halftime and 16 total to go with 15 points.
