A popular American actor who gained notoriety for his role in “Entourage” may soon be co-hosting one of New York’s top sports radio programs.
According to a report from Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, Craig Carton is leaving WFAN and will work full-time at FOX Sports’ FS1 channel. Carton will continue to host “The Carton Show”, and Marchand added that Carton will receive seven-figure pay from the network.
Marchand added that Carton’s partner, Evan Roberts, is expected to stay on WFAN. Citing sources, Marchand’s report also noted that ex-New York Giants star running back Tiki Barber is the front-runner to replace Carton on the program, and that “Entourage” star Jerry Ferrara is also being considered:
“Craig Carton is leaving WFAN, The Post first reported Thursday morning…
For Carton, the financial difference between WFAN and FS1 was too great and the previous schedule was too daunting to remain on afternoon radio in New York…
Internally, Tiki Barber is the leading candidate while, externally, Jerry Ferrara is someone WFAN will consider, according to sources.”
Ferrara played Turtle on “Entourage”, a popular HBO program that aired 96 episodes over eight seasons. The show, which featured plenty of celebrity cameos, also starred Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Jeremy Piven, Debi Mazar and Kevin Dillon.
Per Marchand, Carton announced that his final WFAN show will be on June 30.

Carton’s transition to FS1 full-time is a nice development after FOX lost one of their top talents in Shannon Sharpe. The Pro Football Hall of Famer co-hosted FS1’s “Undisputed” program with Skip Bayless for seven years, but he signed off the show earlier this week.
It has been widely reported that former NFL running back LeSean McCoy will replace Sharpe over on “Undisputed.”
