Former ESPN sports reporter Jemele Hill seemed to be shocked after catching wind of Vanna Hill’s Wheel of Fortune salary.
With Pat Sajak set to leave the show after 40 years of hosting, White should be sticking around – but just as long as she gets a raise. Apparently, she hasn’t gotten one in 18 years.
Puck News is reporting that White has been making the same $3 million-a-year salary for the span of the aforementioned period and is now looking for improved terms. The report also noted that, while White spends more time promoting Wheel of Fortune, Sajak makes nearly five times as much as her.
“I’m stunned at this. Get your money Vanna because that is ridiculous,” Hill wrote in a tweet referencing the story.
The tweet has sparked some debate among users.
One user pointed out that there are thousands of people who could do White’s job (although they aren’t doing it). Another noted that Vanna makes significant bonuses every year and she actually does nothing for ratings.

Sajak announced he will be leaving at the end of the show’s 41st season next year. He will be replaced by American Idol host Ryan Seacrest.
It will be interesting to see whether Vann returns alongside Seacrest, as well as whether her salary will be made public.
