Jada Pinkett Smith is finally speaking two days after husband Will Smith struck Chris Rock onstage at the 94th annual Academy Awards on Sunday.
The actress posted a message on her Instagram that read, “This is a season for healing and I’m here for it.”
Pinkett has been at the center of controversy since Rock, while presenting at Sunday’s Academy Awards, joked about her shaved head.
“Jada I love you, ‘G.I. Jane 2,’ can’t wait to see it,” Rock said.
Will Smith could first be seen laughing and smiling over the joke, but Jada’s disgusted facial expression likely changed his mood and it led to violence. He went on stage and slapped Rock in the face, before returning to his seat and yelling at Rock to “Keep my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth!”
