There can’t be too many scarier ways of losing your life than being in the water and attacked by a shark.
Authorities in New South Wales say a 59-year-old surfer was simply trying to catch waves at Tuncurry Beach when he spotted some sharks nearby. It is reported that he warned friends of the sharks, but then one of the sharks latched onto his thigh and did massive damage.
“Despite the best efforts of paramedics and bystanders at the scene the man could not be resuscitated.”
It was said to have been a 13-foot great white that attacked the man. Officials stated that the beaches in the area would be closed to the public for the foreseeable future.
This was the first shark attack in the area since 2016.
