Transgender swimmer Lia Thomas caused a wave of backlash after she competed against naturally-born women in college.
In March 2022, Thomas became the first openly transgender athlete to win an NCAA Division I national championship in any sport after winning the women’s 500-yard freestyle. Thomas swam for the University of Pennsylvania as a male before transitioning to female, ultimately setting various records while simultaneously upsetting a large portion of the country.
Former female swimmer Riley Gaines, who tied against Thomas in the 2022 NCAA Championships and since has become an outspoken activist against biological men in women’s sports, even stated that Thomas is so well-endowed that she had “refrain from looking” at Thomas in the locker room they shared during a meet.
In the midst of this ongoing battle of keeping biological men out of women’s sports was a picture floating on social media showing a young lady in a pink swimsuit going viral.
It went viral because there was a message at the bottom that read, “Not a dude,” to make sure people knew she was born a woman.
Unfortunately for the people who were praising it, the picture was doctoed with those words on it.

Nobody has a clue who this young lady is or if she is even known. She might not even be aware her picture is being used in the fight against transgenders.
Former UPenn swimmer Paula Scanlan told The Post she “had nightmares for weeks” after sharing a locker room with Lia Thomas.
By the conclusion of Thomas’s swimming career at the University of Pennsylvania in 2022, Thomas’ rank skyrocketed from 65th for men to 1st in the female 500-yard freestyle, and from 554th for men to 5th for women in the 200-yard freestyle.
Trans rights activists say trans women are real women and must be included in sports. This fight has not died down and might continue for years to come.
