The Federal Aviation Administration has released a statement in the wake of the deadly plane crash which took place in Philadelphia on Friday evening.
With the U.S. still reeling from Wednesday’s horrific collision above Washington D.C., there are now more questions to answer following an air ambulance going down in a busy part of the aforementioned city.
The FAA has since weighed in with a statement.
“A Learjet 55 crashed around 6:30 p.m. local time on Friday, Jan. 31, after departing from Northeast Philadelphia Airport. Six people were on board. The plane was en route to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri. The FAA and NTSB will investigate. The NTSB will lead the investigation and will provide all updates,” it reads.
Number Of Fatalities From Philadelphia Plane Crash Still Unknown
The Learjet crashed in a densely populated area filled with homes, shops, and busy streets.
Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker said in a press conference last night that there were no reports on the number of fatalities.

“As of right now, we have no reports on the number of fatalities,” she said. “So right now, we’re just asking for prayers for any and everyone who may have been affected.”
Parker did note that several homes and vehicles were affected.

CNN has since stated that at least seven people lost their lives in the accident, with dozens more injured. None of the six persons on the aircraft survived.
