Authorities are now turning to the public’s help to catch a well-known Kansas City Chiefs’ superfan, Xaviar Babudar, also known as “ChiefsAholic”.
In December, Babudar was arrested for bank robbery in Bixby, Oklahoma. Bail was set at $200,000 and had to wear a leg monitor. But in late March, Babudar’s lawyer revealed that he cut off the monitor and has been on the run since Mar. 25.
With Babudar on the run for over two months now, authorities hope more public attention will lead to his capture. The Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers have now placed Babudar as the fifth-most wanted fugitive on their list.
Babudar, who turns 29 next month, is wanted for “Failure to appear in court warrant, Warrant for bank robbery.” A $1 million bond warrant was subsequently issued.
Babudar was well-known among Chiefs fans for his social media presence as well as his signature wolf costume. Per David Medina of KSHB, Babudar allegedly robbed a bank in Bixby on Dec. 6, using a gun and threatening an employee to take him to the bank vault.
The 28-year-old Babudar was hoping to be granted the opportunity to see the Chiefs’ Super Bowl 57 victory against the Philadelphia Eagles. Kansas City won the game on a last-second thriller by a final score of 38-35.
