Actor and comedian Rob Schneider has asked for help from folks on social media as he’s keen on identifying a bunch of hikers who were recorded running away from the scene after it appeared that they stumbled on the Palisades fire in California while it was just beginning.
The fire remains a massive threat in the state as it continues to burn through structures, having already caused billions in damage. As of Sunday, it was only 11 percent contained, and as if that wasn’t bad enough, it’s not even the only fire in the area, as there are several more beating a path through Los Angeles.
A group of hikers claimed to have come across the fire while it was only just starting and had to run to safety, posting footage of themselves running away from the blaze. But they didn’t seem too afraid, as they were all seen laughing while making their way down the trail.
Rob Schneider Joins Calls For Hikers To Be Treated As Suspects
A number of people have voiced suspicions that the hikers were involved in starting the fire, which has turned into an absolute disaster and is threatening to burn down an entire state.
Schneider is among the people who believe that they could have something to do with it and took to X on Sunday to ask social media to ID them.

“PLEASE HELP IDENTIFY…,” he wrote as his caption, reposting another tweet showing stills of the individuals running down the hill.
Other users have cat doubt as they’ve pointed out that the hikers in question took the clips themselves, with one of them having spoken to reporters.
In any case, the videos warrant at least a conversation with the authorities, who are still trying to figure out what started the blaze.
