The entertainment world is still reeling in the wake of the shocking news of actor Matthew Perry’s death.
Perry, best known for his iconic role as Chandler Bing on the hit comedy, ‘Friends’, was reportedly found unresponsive in a hot tub at his home in Los Angeles California on Sunday. According to reports, no foul play was suspected.
He was 54 years old.
Perry had taken up pickleball as a sport and is said to have been obsessed with it as he found it to be great for his mental and physical health, having struggled with drug addiction in the past.
According to his coach, Matthew Manasse, the actor was playing just hours before he was found dead. Manasse started coaching Perry around two years ago and he would play with lots of different people.
“He fell in love with the sport and he really wanted to use it for his recovery, it was sort of his new thing he could get behind and have on his calendar,” Manasse told NBC. “I would bring all different types of people to come and play with him, and he would bring people too, people dealing with recovery issues.
“Everyone who came in contact with him really cared about his recovery journey and the flip side is he really cared about us. He cared about your success just as much as his own.”
