UFC Grants Sean O’Malley Permission for Boxing Match with One Condition
Recently, O’Malley revealed that the UFC authorities have no objections to his decision to pursue boxing as long as it results in significant financial gain for both parties. The UFC officials would be open to O’Malley’s venture into the boxing ring if it generates comparable revenue. O’Malley further clarified this condition in promoting his potential boxing match, stating that he needs to continue growing his popularity through two more impressive performances before being free to explore such opportunities.
“I’m not there yet, I still gotta become bigger. Two more f***ing sick performances, then we’re talking about being able to do whatever the f*** we want. They told me, ‘you can do a boxing fight 100%, if it makes us enough money.’ The option is there. It just has to be able to make enough money.” O’Malley said.
O’Malley showcased impressive striking skills in his recent UFC 299 main event against Marlon Vera, demonstrating that he has the ability to excel in a boxing ring as well. O’Malley’s desired opponent, Ryan Garcia, is also highly popular in combat sports. A matchup between the two has the potential to attract a large audience. Only time will tell us when O’Malley is going to debut in boxing.
