Ryan Garcia created a lot of controversy, preluding his matchup against Devin Haney. Garcia’s controversial remarks and weight miss before the fight attracted notoriety. Even WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman expressed concern for the ‘King Ryan.’
The controversies did not subside even after he defeated Haney as the VADA found him guilty of doping. Currently facing a one-year suspension, Garica’s recent Islamophobic comments have now gotten him in extra- trouble as Sulaiman has expelled him from WBC.
Sulaiman Takes Stand Against Garcia’s Derogatory Comments
Ryan Garcia recently made several derogatory statements about Muslims and Black people on X Space when controversial streamer Sneako joined it. The controversy was based on a conversation between Sneako and Muhammad Hijab, an English Islam preacher.
Surprisingly, Garica hosted on X Space and used the derogatory term ‘Ni**er’ multiple times on X Space, resulting in backlash from the offended black community.
After the incident, Mauricio Sulaiman made a stern decision against the boxer. “Exercising my authority as president of the WBC , I am hereby expelling Ryan Garcia from any activity with our organization. We reject any form of discrimination. I fear for Ryan well being as he has declined multiple attempts for our help with mental health and substance abuse,” Sulaiman announced his decision on X.
Notably, the former WBC interim champion had vowed to donate a portion of his purse from the Devin Haney fight to the children affected by the Israel-Palestinian conflict. Moreover, he had also voiced concern about pedophilia and child trafficking.

Therefore, the boxer felt offended when Hijab defined pedophilia as a relative term during his conversation with Sneako. Hijab’s comment that sex is permissible on a 13-year-old did not sit well with the boxer. Hijab and Sneako had faced backlash, and now Garcia got it with his response.
