Professional boxer Ryan Garcia was allegedly arrested on Saturday afternoon for felony vandalism in Los Vegas. The incident occurred at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, where Garcia stayed as a guest. The report indicates that Garcia is accused of damaging property at the hotel, including the room he was occupying. He was subsequently taken into custody by the authorities following the alleged incident.
Ryan Garcia Arrested for Felony Vandalism
The report states that Garcia is accused of causing an estimated $15,000 in damages to property at the Beverly Hills hotel. TMZ reports that Garcia appeared to be ‘under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs’ but was cooperative with authorities during his arrest.
Garcia recently defeated Devin Haney, and his unpredictable behavior leading up to the fight caused many to question his mental stability. Additionally, he failed a doping test following his unexpected victory.
According to reports, in addition to the alleged felony vandalism incident at the Waldorf Astoria hotel, Garcia is also facing potential disciplinary action from the New York Athletic Commission.
The commission is reportedly looking to suspend Garcia after he tested positive for the banned substance Ostarine before his upset victory over Devin Haney in April.
Reports claimed that Garcia was the subject of a police welfare check at the same Waldorf Astoria hotel earlier this week. This call came from a concerned family member about the boxer’s well-being.
