Lopez vs. Claggett Preview
Lopez moved up in weight after losing the unified lightweight titles to George Kambosos Jr. in a massive upset via split decision, the first loss of his professional MMA career. The move proved a masterclass as he is on a four-fight winning streak in his new division.
Currently holding the WBO and the Ring versions of the light welterweight titles, Lopez is a massive betting favorite against Claggett. Lopez won the title from Josh Taylor via unanimous decision and defended the title against Jamaine Ortiz similarly.
On the other hand, the Canadian is on a 9-fight winning streak, 7 via finish. With 26 KOs in 38 victories, Claggett has only lost by KOs in only one of his 7 losses. On the other hand, Lopez boasts a 65% finish rate in 20 professional boxing victories.

With a win over Claggett, Lopez will be looking to unify the titles against either Issac Cruz, Devin Haney, or Liam Paro. Claggett has the chance to halt Lopez’s ambitions but has not shown the ability to do so so far.
