Former four-division world champion Roman ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez is all set to fight Colombian fighter Rober Barrera in a 10-round bantamweight bout in the main event. After nearly two years away from the ring, Gonzalez will return to action in his native Nicaragua on Friday night. The event is scheduled at Polideportivo Alexis Arguello in Managua, Nicaragua, on July 12.
Gonzalez vs. Barrera kicks off at 9 p.m. ET / 2 a.m. UK (Sunday), with the main event ring, walks planned for around 10 p.m. ET / 3 a.m. UK (Sunday). ESPN+ will broadcast the fight live for US fans, but the UK broadcasting channel has not yet confirmed.
Gonzalez has a record of 51 wins and four losses, 41 of which came by knockout, demonstrating his knockout power. In contrast, Barrera has a record of 27 wins and five losses, 17 of which came by knockout. Gonzalez possesses more experience due to his larger number of fights, whereas Barrera is regarded as a young talent in the ring.
