The fight between Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez and Juan Francisco Estrada is a classic matchup between a young, talented fighter and a seasoned veteran. Rodriguez will be Estrada’s opponent, defending his WBC and Ring super flyweight/junior bantamweight (115-pound) belts. The fight will occur on June 29, 2024, inside the Footprint Center in Phoenix.
The prelims of the boxing match will begin at 9 p.m. ET (7 p.m. ET). At the same time, the main event will start at 12 a.m. ET. Boxing fans can stream the boxing match at DAZN.
This will be Estrada’s first fight since he defeated Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez in three straight fights. The Mexicans will now try to stop one of the best boxing operators from rising to unprecedented heights.
Rodriguez, 24, has made significant progress in his 19 professional fights. The American is now a two-weight world champion. If Rodriguez wins against one of the best boxers in the world, it will solidify his standing as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters.
Preview of Juan Estrada vs. Jesse Rodriguez
Estrada, 33, began competing professionally in 2008. “El Gallo” has dominated opponents at 5-8 and won gold in light, fly, and super flyweight. Since 2018, he has won eight straight fights. In 2018, he lost the WBC super flyweight title to Wisaksil Wangek, but in 2019, he won it back in a rematch.
In his final fight in 2022, Estrada defeated rival Roman Gonzalez 2-1 to win the then-vacant WBC title. Despite not playing long, Estrada hopes to show young Rodriguez that he still has it.

Rodriguez became a pro in 2017 after winning a silver medal at the Junior World Championships. “Bam” defeated Carlos Cuadras in 2022 to win the WBC super flyweight championship, but he later gave it up to concentrate on the flyweight class. The 24-year-old defeated Sunny Edwards in December 2023 to win the IBF title after defeating Cristian Gonzalez Hernandez in April 2023 for the WBO title.
Rodriguez, who views Estrada as his idol, is back in the super flyweight division to face him. All that is set aside as he seeks to demonstrate why he is among the best young fighters available.
