In the boxing world, we may mention Vailiy Lomachenko. Lomachenko is hands down one of the best boxers of this generation. He has beaten almost every prominent fighter in his divisions, from Featherweight to Lightweight. He has also dominated the boxing pound-for-pound list in the past and continues to do so. There’s a reason why Lomachenko is highly regarded in the combat sports world, mainly due to his phenomenal boxing record in both the professional and the amateur circuits.
Lomachenko is one of the best fighters from the war-torn Ukraine. He argues about being the best fighter to come out of the country.
Vasiliy Lomachenko’s boxing record
Vasiliy Lomachenko is set to fight in the ring later this weekend against his long-time rival George Kambosos. He has been in twenty professional fights and emerged victorious in seventeen inside the boxing ring. Lomachenko has only lost three fights in a loaded division against some of the biggest boxing powerhouses. He last fought starlet Devin Haney and lost by a unanimous decision. He also lost to Teofimo Lopez inside the ring again via decision.
Much has been said about his professional boxing record, but I don’t think many know his shenanigans in the amateur circuit. The man has been in as many as 397 fights in the amateur circuit and won 396 of them. Not many have won 396 fights in the ring with protective gear on, but Lomachenko is the boxing stud for a reason. There is no central boxer in the world who has won such a large number of fights in the amateur ring apart from Vasiliy.
The Ukrainian has a new challenge ahead of him. George Kambosos is again one of the top lightweight fighters in the company. It’ll be interesting to see who wins the bout against two of the best scrappers in the world. Will Lomachenko be able to extend his seventeen-win record later this weekend? Only time will tell.
