In recognition of his humanitarian work in Israeli-occupied Jerusalem, Floyd Mayweather was given an award. During a visit to Aish HaTorah and the United Hatzalah offices on Tuesday, March 12, the boxing icon—who has openly supported Israel during the massacre in Gaza—was given what seemed to be a diamond-encrusted Kippur as a token of appreciation for his pro-Israel stance.
According to the group, the boxer, who was wearing a big Star of David necklace, was “visibly moved” when he met Eli Beer, the CEO of Hatzalah, and Eli Pollak, the organization’s president and founder.
Following the October 7 incident, which Hamas led, Mayweather sent his plane loaded with medical supplies to aid the thousands of injured during the early stages of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The boxer was impressed by the stories of bravery and heroism that he had heard from the volunteers during his visit to United Hatzalah.
Floyd Mayweather Receives Award Admist War
Floyd Mayweather, a former professional boxer from the United States, caused controversy with his travel to occupied Jerusalem, while Palestinian children in Gaza starved to death due to Israel’s continued blockade of aid.
The boxer’s welcome, which included applause and the nickname “Rabbi Mayweather” from Jewish rabbis, stands in stark contrast to the terrible circumstances that Gazans, especially those in Rafah, are facing. On Tuesday, Mayweather was presented with the organization’s Champion for Israel Award while visiting Aish HaTorah and the United Hatzalah headquarters in Jerusalem.

One of Mayweather’s first destinations on his itinerary for his current trip to Israel, which aims to deepen his relationship with the nation and its people, was the ceremony. While there, Mayweather—dorn in a hat and a necklace adorned with a Star of David—met with Aish students and celebrated the Jewish month of Adar with them. He even surprised the audience by singing a few songs in Hebrew, to their enthusiastic applause.
