No doubt UFC boss Dana White has guts. He believed in his product when others didn’t. Not only did he turn the UFC into a massive success, building it into a billion-dollar company, but he also made it one of the biggest names in sports. On top of that, his Power Slap venture is now one of the fastest-growing sports.
Now, after dominating two major sports, White hinted at creating a boxing league in collaboration with Saudi Arabia’s Turki Alalshikh, sharing his thoughts on what’s next. With his proven track record of building successful sports, there is no doubt he can disrupt the boxing scene next.
The UFC’s collaboration with Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority began on a high note with a successful Fight Night event in June. Now, Dana White and Turki Alalshikh are causing concern for other boxing organizations. White, who has long expressed interest in promoting boxing, recently broke his silence on the matter during an interview with Vegas PBS. He stated:
“I’ve been talking about getting involved in boxing for a long time. And then every time I get off the phone with a boxing guy, I go. ‘Why in the world would I want to do this?’ Most of them are not good people,”
White also highlighted the exciting nature of doing business with Turki Alalshikh and emphasized Saudi Arabia’s commitment to investing in the sport. He noted that nothing in the industry works without proper investment. As an example of his own efforts, Dana White recently invested more than $16 million into the Las Vegas Sphere for UFC 306.
