Mike Tyson is one of the greatest boxers to have ever lived. He was so great that he helped draw in over 120 million people to watch his fight against YouTuber-turned-prizefighter Jake Paul, and it was insane.
Paul went all out for his ring walk, pulling up to the ring in a customized, low rider, while Tyson did the classic Mike Tyson ring walk, and it was quite clear who the fans in Dallas were backing for the highly publicized bout.
The fight wouldn’t exactly go Tyson’s way at all, as Paul more than doubled the 58-year-old’s output. However, it was a historic feat that he could enter the ring almost 20 years after his last pro fight and under arguably the most intense circumstances ever.
Tyson’s return to the ring had fans thinking back to his prime, and one of the most insane stories is going viral after it was revealed that an 18-year-old Mike Tyson wanted to take on a Silverback Gorilla in a zoo.

A Zoo Employee Declined $10k From Mike Tyson After Being Asked To Open The Gorilla Cage
“I paid a worker at New York’s zoo to re-open it just for me and Robin. When we got to the gorilla cage there was one big silverback gorilla there just bullying all the other gorillas,” said the former heavyweight champion of the world.

“They were so powerful but their eyes were like an innocent infant. I offered the attendant $10,000 to open the cage and let me smash that silverback’s snot box. He declined,” Mike said, wanting to get in the cage with the animal.
One fan pointed out Tyson’s insane career stating, “Just a reminder that the same year Jake Paul was born, Mike Tyson was 31 years old, biting off ears, fighting Las Vegas police and producing one of the coldest fight pictures of all time.”
Another fan even joked that Tyson would have probably gone to jail for animal cruelty, and the odds are that gorilla would have been out in about three minutes or less.
While it’s unfortunate that we may never know the outcome of Mike Tyson vs. Silverback Gorilla, it’s not hard to assume that the former heavyweight champion of the world would cleanly knock out that gorilla.
