Floyd Mayweather has once again proven why he’s the greatest boxer of his generation. The rematch between Mayweather Jr. and John Gotti III just wrapped up, with Mayweather dominating from the opening bell, as expected. Although the fight was an exhibition and didn’t have official scores, Mayweather would have clearly won if it had been judged. Many boxing stars, including Shakur Stevenson, were stunned by the dominating performance of the 47-year-old.
Stevenson personally messaged Mayweather to commend him on his remarkable performance in the showdown with Gotti III, telling Mayweather that he was the greatest fighter he’d ever seen. In response, “TBE” replied with, “Thanks, little TBE.” The 27-year-old boxer quickly shared a screenshot of Mayweather’s message on his Instagram story, writing,
“We gone get some money together one day fs, But he’s the greatest to ever do it for sure (GOAT). I Appreciate this dude big time yall hate em because yall envy him. Chasing Greatness”
This exhibition fight has raised eyebrows for many. Despite being 47 years old and retired from professional boxing, Mayweather can still dominate in the ring.
Shakur Stevenson’s Comments On Mayweather’s Referee Exit
In the second round, the referee halted the action to warn Mayweather about punches to the back of the head. Mayweather strongly contested the call, claiming the punches were hooked rather than illegal shots.
As the situation escalated, the referee was ultimately removed from the ring. Stevenson reacted on X, saying, “I never seen a ref get kicked out Floyd the Goat for sure.”
