After a massive fight on April 20th at Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York, many boxing analysts and most fight fans now claim that “King Ry” Ryan Garcia is one of the top 10 pound-for-pound boxers in the world right now.
Garcia took the fight’s promotion to a whole new level, and pretty much everyone across the boxing world, and even those who ignore the sport, thought the young fighter had lost his mind after social media post he made to his X and Instagram accounts.
After the fight, Garcia revealed that it was all seemingly an act. That wasn’t the only thing he revealed, as according to his Instagram page, Garcia nearly doubled his fight purse, rounding his total up to $50 million in one night!
How did the 25-year-old orthodox fighter tack on an extra $12 million to his fight purse? All Garcia had to do was bet a measly (to him) $2 million on himself to win his highly vaunted fight against the WBC Super Lightweight champion, Devin Haney.

Garcia posted a picture of himself on his Instagram page, encompassing a tweet that reads, “Ryan Garcia reportedly bet $2,000,000 on himself to defeat Devin Haney and was paid out $12,000,000.” There were also two more screenshots of tweets that confirmed the report.

The star boxer added a caption to the boost with quite possibly the most cliche advice; however, it did ring true for Ryan on Saturday night. The caption read, “If you bet, BET ON YOURSELF.” He also added that his total made in one night was about $50 million and will probably be more.
Before taking on Oscar Duarte in his last fight in December 2023, Garcia took on world champion Gervonte Davis on April 22, 2023. He lost in the 7th round via TKO before claiming Davis had insiders in his camp.
Many fans are begging for a Garcia vs. Tank rematch after his dominating victory over Haney, who many considered to be ranked alongside “Tank” Davis as one of the pound-for-pound best in the sport. If we’re being honest, the rematch would be a very intriguing fight.
