Ryan Garcia is now considered one of the top ten pound-for-pound fighters in the world after taking on Devin Haney in a highly anticipated boxing match on May 20th and beating him by split decision in a win that shocked everyone.
The win was not shocking because of Garcia’s performance during the fight; the reason for the reaction was his pre-fight social media antics. Some sources have now claimed that Ryan tested positive for PEDs before the fight.
According to a post by journalist Dan Raphael, Garcia reportedly tested positive for a banned PED known as Ostarine prior to the Haney bout, which should have made the 25-year-old fighter unable to take on Haney in the fight.

In the response, Garcia stated that these were all just “rumors” and questioned why the commission would have let him fight if these test results were true. The alleged testing was done prior to the fight, which leans in Garcia’s favor.
Whatever the case, the fight was clearly an upset win after Haney was favored to win pretty much the entire time that betting odds were available. At the highest point, Davin Haney was a -700 favorite to win the hard-fought battle.
Only time will tell whether these allegations are true, but as it stands right now, Garcia currently stands as the winner of the fight, fair and square, and this leaves fans wondering… what’s next for these two great fighters?
