Roy Jones Jr. once recalled how he had to change his mindset in the build-up to his exhibition fight against Mike Tyson.
After briefly retiring from the sport of boxing for a while, boxing legends, Roy Jones Jr. and Mike Tyson returned to the squared circle for an exhibition bout back in 2020. While the fight ended in a draw, it was one of the most watched events of the year.
Speaking about it during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, Roy Jones Jr. once recalled how he had to prepare himself mentally for the fight. While suggesting that he was unaware of the version that Mike Tyson would bring into the squared circle, he said:
“You got to protect your ears, your chin, your jaw.”

That said, it’s safe to say that Roy Jones Jr. ended up doing quite well despite being a bit nervous about fighting Tyson.

Mike Tyson set to make nearly $20 million for his return
Earlier this month, it was announced that Mike Tyson will be returning to the squared circle. In a movie that shocked many, it was revealed that Tyson will take on social media superstar turned professional boxer, Jake Paul.
The two will lock horns at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The fight will take place on July 20th and will be live-streamed on Netflix. When the fight was announced, the news became viral and it was criticised by a lot of people.
Many people have expressed their concerns over Mile Tyson potentially suffering a serious injury considering the fact that he is 57 years old. However, it is worth noting that the payout might be the reason why Tyson has agreed to return.
