A former professional boxer has been named as the prime suspect in the bludgeoning murder of her husband, whose body was found inside their apartment in Switzerland.
Viviane Obenauf was reportedly arrested last week after the victim, identified as 61-year-old Thomas.
The Daily Star had more details:
“Obenauf, 34, was arrested this week and is currently in investigative custody after the victim died from a “sustained violent assault”.
The victim, whose name is protected by Swiss law, died of “massive injuries” inflicted with a blunt object, Swiss police stated.
Police have been spotted searching a gym owned by Obernauf as well as the couple’s apartment.”
The Brazil native has a career record of 14-6 and she held two World Boxing Federation titles before retiring from the ring last year.
Obenauf had just gotten married back in January and opened a gym in the Swiss town of Interlaken, where she lived with her husband.

A man who said he’d previously dated the fighter told the newspaper Blick he wasn’t surprised his ex was back behind bars.
“She always had two faces. It’s like flicking a switch,” he said.
