Oscar De La Hoya has revenge on his mind.
The former world champion, who hasn’t fought since 2008, recently told TMZ Sports he plans to call out Mayweather for a rematch for his next fight.
“I’ll offer Floyd Mayweather $100 million,” De La Hoya said. “Let’s do it.”
Back in 2007, Mayweather won a split decision when the pair squared off, with the bout being the most lucrative boxing match ever at the time, generating over $130 million.
However, Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe wanted no parts of a De La Hoya-Mayweather rematch in June, telling SportsMap Radio’s “The Jake Asman Show” that “it will never happen.”
De La Hoya was set to make his return back to the ring against MMA fighter Vitor Belfort in an exhibition match, but he contracted the coronavirus and had to back out of it.
