The rivalry between Oscar De La Hoya and Eddie Hearn is starting to feel like the ultimate “Tom and Jerry” showdown—non-stop back-and-forth shots, with no signs of either backing down. Golden Boy Promotions isn’t letting up either, as De La Hoya recently went on a lengthy rant targeting Hearn once again. This time, he didn’t hold back, even dragging Canelo Alvarez into the mix to belittle Hearn, calling him a pathological liar who’s incompetent and incapable of managing top talent.
It seems Oscar De La Hoya has started his own “Clap Back Thursday” series aiming only at Eddie Hearn. Just a few days ago, De La Hoya took a jab at Hearn, claiming that Matchroom Boxing is a curse for fighters and accusing him of damaging Canelo Alvarez’s career. Hearn quickly fired back, pointing out that Alvarez left De La Hoya and that Ryan Garcia, one of his top fighters, isn’t a fan either. After a brief silence, De La Hoya returned with another response with Ryan Garcia, ready to continue the feud.
He stated, “You must be the biggest pathological liar on the planet to try. And convince us you’re good at your job. F***ing train wreck… Canelo dumped you because you’re incompetent and incapable of doing your job.”
De La Hoya slammed Hearn, accusing him of being a pathological liar for insisting he’s effective at his job. Meanwhile, he admits their mutual animosity with Alvarez but points out that he successfully promoted the Mexican legend for a decade. On the other hand, Alvarez left Hearn after eight fights due to his incompetence, and in the end, Garcia came and flipped the bird to Hearn. So far, Hearn hasn’t responded to De La Hoya’s comments, but it looks like this feud is set to continue for some time.
Oscar De La Hoya Has Big Plans For Ryan Garcia’s Comeback
The boxing world saw another controversy after Garcia won against Devin Haney. After the match, he tested positive for PED, resulting in a ban and a lawsuit from Team Haney. Recently, De La Hoya spoke while promoting his November 16 “Latino Night” set to take place in Saudi Arabia. During this interview, he shared the details of Haney’s lawsuit and shared that he has big comeback plans for ‘KingRy.’
He said (via BoxingScene), “I just had him in my office 30 minutes ago. We have big plans for Ryan Garcia’s return. We need to address this frivolous lawsuit against us, but that’s just noise.”

De La Hoya said the situation is puzzling. But he isn’t too worried. In light of this fact, he feels he’s on the right side, which gives him no reason for concern. Meanwhile, he is currently eyeing two things: the Latino Night event and Garcia’s comeback fight.
