Naoya Inoue has been tearing through weight classes like a hot knife through butter. Now, he is gearing up for another showdown. This time, he has set his sights on Sam Goodman, the undefeated Australian contender. The Japanese phenom hits extremely hard and is skilled, with 0 defeats in his career. He even garnered praise from none other than Mike Tyson.
Inoue has been busy this year. He has already notched two impressive wins under his belt. In May, he TKO’d Luis Nery in the sixth round. Then in September, he sent TJ Doheny packing in the seventh. But Inoue’s not one to rest on his laurels. He’s hungry for more.
Goodman, the Aussie fighter, is undefeated and ready to make his international debut. Goodman’s record is spotless at 19-0, with 8 KOs. But facing Inoue is a completely different ball game. There is a reason his nickname is the ‘Monster.’
The fight is set for December 24th in Tokyo. Naoya Inoue would be performing in front of his home crowd. It must be noted that Goodman is a mandatory IBF matchup for the ‘Monster.’ He will face the toughest challenge of his entire career. And he will become a legend if he gets out of the ring with his record pristine!
Eddie Hearn Believes Naoya Inoue Is Ducking Murodjon Akhmadaliev
Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn has thrown down the gauntlet. His target is Inoue, the Japanese sensation known as “Monster.” He has been tearing through the boxing world and has collected many belts, but Hearn is not impressed.
Eddie Hearn called Naoya Inoue’s recent fight a “horrific mismatch.” The bout was Inoue vs. TJ Doheny for the undisputed junior featherweight world titles. The promoter also believed that the Japanese boxer was ducking Murodjon Akhmadaliev, the WBA mandatory challenger.

“It’s a horrific mismatch. I don’t understand why, for some reason, Team Inoue and Mr. Honda and everyone, I know for a fact, they don’t like the Akhmadaliev fight…I wouldn’t expect him to pick Akhmadaliev in a voluntary… It’s hard to say Inoue is ducking Akhmadaliev, but he actually is,” said Hearn via BoxNation
Naoya Inoue’s resume is impressive. He has made history by becoming undisputed in two weight classes—that’s no small feat. But Eddie Hearn is not buying it and is disappointed in his choices. It remains to be seen whether Inoue proves Hearn wrong and gives Murodjon Akhmadaliev his shot.
