Speaking of legendary coaches, Cus D’Amato is one of the greatest. From Floyd Patterson to José Torres, he trained champions—and, of course, Mike Tyson was one of his pupils. Now, ahead of his fight with Jake Paul, Tyson visited his old mentor’s grave to honor and remember him.
In the sixth episode of his series Behind the Mike, fans got a deeper look at Tyson, revisiting key moments from his past that shaped who he is today. Tyson shared a video on X, showing his visit to Catskill, about 30 miles from Albany. For those unfamiliar, Catskill is where Cus D’Amato relocated his boxing gym in 1970. It’s also where D’Amato was laid to rest, in Saint Patrick Cemetery in Catskill, New York.
In his post, Tyson recalls D’Amato’s words, emphasizing that true greatness isn’t about one’s own success but about the impact they have on others and how one helps them succeed.
It seems like ahead of his upcoming fight with Jake Paul, ‘Iron Mike’ is drawing on the wisdom and advice from his coach that helped shape him into one of the greatest boxers not just of his generation, but of all time.

In addition to the main event, Amanda Serrano is set to face off against Katie Taylor, and Indian boxer Neeraj Goyat—who’s been making headlines as a potential future opponent for Paul—will take on Whindersson Nunes. Here’s the full card:
