Logan Paul has revealed just how close he came to securing a super-fight against Nate Diaz that everyone still wants to see.
Paul, who is now also a WWE wrestler, has accused Diaz of Ducking him and, speaking to Ariel Helwani in a recent interview, said he offered Diaz “the sweetest deal” in an attempt to set up a fight between the two.
Diaz left the UFC in September, citing a need to pursue other ventures. And who knows? They just might include crossover boxing matches.
However, he has not obliged Paul, who appears to still be keen on having that match.
“I thought it was (a done deal). I think this guy might be running from me,” Paul told Helwanni.
“This guy is actually… I think he’s ducking. Because we have the sweetest deal for him, and he knows the type of numbers that I’ll bring in. I’m not a quarter-million pay-per-view type of fighter. You’re gonna get 750,000 to a million buys, and I’m an 0-1 YouTuber. Seems like an easy fight on paper, no?”

Paul hasn’t fought since 2021, having taken on the likes of KSI in a professional match and Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition. In spite of the hiatus, the YouTube sensation swears he’s ready to get right back to it.
“It’s hard for me to get a fight, because either you aren’t worth my time and energy, or you’re not gonna sell pay-per-views. I’ll do it, but I need a dance partner,” he continued.
“And I don’t need a warm-up fight. I don’t need a tune-up. Give me the real dogs. Nate Diaz is a dog, I was looking forward to that fight. Then I got a call the other day and said they didn’t want to do it, they’re maybe taking another fight. It was almost done.”
Diaz’s manager, Zach Rosenfield, has said that the fighter will have multiple bouts in 2023. The former UFC star has received offers from Logan’s brother Jake, as well as the BKFC, but has yet to act on any of them.
