It seems the boxing world has found its next superstar in Keyshawn Davis, who is currently making waves. While he’s set to face veteran Gustavo Lemos this weekend, Davis is already looking beyond this fight, with his eyes set on a future showdown against none other than Gervonta Davis, the best in the business.
In a recent interview, undefeated boxer Keyshawn Davis expressed his determination to face WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis, claiming Gervonta’s team wants him to move up in weight. Adding to that, Keyshawn declared he’ll stay in his division until he secures a fight with Gervonta.
However, ‘Tank’ dismissed Keyshawn, calling him out in a series of now-deleted tweets, that included harsh insults. This provocation led Keyshawn to respond fiercely to X, fueling their ongoing tension. Calling him out he asked Gervonta to send the contract. He wrote; “Blah Blah Blah send me a contract you Ompa Loompa.”
Keyshawn Davis Hopes Gervonta Davis Will Not Retire Before Fighting Him
Subsequently, Keyshawn hinted that Gervonta could retire before they meet, asserting he’s the only one worthy of taking his spot as the “Face of Boxing.” He also claimed it would take just 4-5 rounds to defeat ‘Tank.’ He stated, “Hope his soft a** don’t retire before it happens. It’s only one person [who] can take his spot.”
There’s no doubt that, like ‘Tank,’ Keyshawn is on an unstoppable path and looks like he could be boxing’s next big star. If the two Davis face off, it would be huge for the sport—and if Keyshawn wins, it could mark a true passing of the torch. Meanwhile, for now, all eyes will be on his upcoming match against Lemos, where he has to prove his worth to get Gervonta.
