Jake Paul has been stirring up the MMA world lately. This guy just doesn’t quit. He has this insatiable hunger for confrontation, and he’s not afraid to go after some of the biggest names in the sport. The latest chapter in the ongoing saga involves Paul taking aim at a couple of UFC stars – Sean Strickland and Paddy Pimblett.
These two guys have certainly been known to do a little trash-talking of their own. However, they apparently had nothing to say when Paul came at them with a seriously lucrative offer. According to ‘The Problem Child,’ he tried to sweeten the pot by offering Strickland and Pimblett a cool million bucks and a private jet to come spar with him.
“This is actually what pisses me off, him [Sean Strickland] and Paddy Pimblett. Both I offered 1 million dollars and a private jet to pick them up to come spar me. And then its excuses…They just go radio silent, so it is a bummer,” said Paul via The TimboSugar Show.
Jake Paul has been pretty vocal about his belief that UFC fighters are overrated when it comes to the striking game. To prove this, he has been dying to prove it by taking on some of the promotion’s biggest stars. But it seems like Dana White and the UFC brass have been stonewalling him at every turn.
Paul even called out the UFC light heavyweight champ, Alex Pereira. At the end of the day, though, it’s all just talk until fans see these fights actually happen. And with the way the UFC seems to be digging in its heels, it might be a while before we get to see Paul take on any of their marquee names.
Sean Strickland Reveals Not Getting Permission From The UFC To Fight Jake Paul
Strickland is a former UFC champion who has made a name for himself with his brash persona and technical style. So when Paul came at him with an offer to step into the ring, fans would think Strickland would jump at the chance. But that was not the case.

According to Strickland, he actually reached out to the UFC to see if they’d give him the green light to take on Paul. However, the promotion shut that idea down pretty quickly. Apparently, the UFC brass didn’t think it was worth the risk.
“I actually talked to Hunter [Campbell], and I was like ‘Hunter, I will fight this man…Hunter explained to me that [Paul] sells no fights. When they have fights, they give away tickets. He doesn’t make money. His target audience is children. They don’t buy pay-per-views,” said Strickland via his YouTube channel.
Of course, Strickland, being Strickland, didn’t just take the news lying down. He fired back at Paul, calling him an “embarrassment to the world.” ‘Tarzan’ revealed that he would fight him with no cameras, no fancy production, just two guys hashing it out. But let’s be real, it’s highly unlikely that Strickland and Jake Paul will ever actually throw down, even in a non-sanctioned setting.
