YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul was initially slated to fight legend Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on July 20. However, Tyson, aged 57, had to withdraw from the bout due to medical reasons. As a result, Paul will now face BKFC champion Mike Perry in a cruiserweight clash on July 20 in Florida.
The bout against Tyson has been rescheduled for November 15. Thus, while Paul will box a Mike this summer, it won’t be Mike Tyson as initially planned.
Jake Paul Lines Up July Fight Against Mike Perry
Jake Paul has decided not to postpone his next boxing match and will still compete on the originally scheduled date of July 20 instead of facing the legendary Mike Tyson as planned. Paul will now take on mixed martial artist and BKFC champion Mike “Platinum” Perry in an eight-round cruiserweight bout.
Most Valuable Promotions announced this change in opponent Paul’s promotional company. The event will be broadcast live on the DAZN pay-per-view platform. This crossover boxing match will be fun to watch. It is between the YouTube star-turned-boxer and the experienced MMA fighter.
Mike Perry, the reigning King of Violence in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), has remained undefeated since departing the UFC in 2021. Meanwhile, Jake Paul, who holds a 9-1 professional record. He was initially set to face boxing legend Mike Tyson on July 20 in a bout slated to stream live on Netflix.
However, this matchup has since been postponed and is now scheduled for November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Interestingly, the upcoming fight will not feature Mike Tyson but rather Mike Perry, the BKFC champion, as Paul’s opponent.
