Nate Diaz bagged the victory inside the squared circle against Jorge Masvidal but seemed to have lost in the finances. The Stockton fighter filed a lawsuit against promoter Fanmio for defaulting on payment. Jake Paul, who defeated Diaz on his professional boxing debut, had fun as news broke of the ex-UFC title challenger’s lawsuit against Fanmio in a Miami court.
“Guess that $15 million from PFL needs to be taken a little more seriously you dummy. Yesterday’s price is not today’s price. Oh and Masvidal you broke and can’t sell shit,” Paul tweeted, citing the purse he had offered Diaz for a matchup in MMA under the PFL banner.
When Paul called out Diaz after beating him in boxing, the ex-UFC BMF title challenger dismissed the offer. The younger Diaz brother felt the PFL was inferior to his former employers. The tables have turned, as the PFL offer looks great in hindsight.
Soloman Engel, the CEO of Fanmio, has responded to Diaz’s lawsuit, denying any wrongdoing. Diaz claimed the promoters offered him $9 million but did not pay it. On the other hand, Fanmio’s CEO claimed they had paid Diaz a seven-figure fight purse.
Michael Bisping Weighs In on Nate Diaz’s Legal Battle
Nate Diaz’s lawsuit against Fanmio has sent shockwaves across the combat sports community. Notable names like Ariel Helwani and Michael Bisping, a UFC Hall of Famer, have chimed in on the matter. Let’s look at what Bisping had to say.
“In terms of promoting it, when he’s [Nate Diaz] got $10 million guaranteed, well, there’s no motivation now whatsoever. So that was the main mistake that this promoter made. Now he went on to say that he’s going to have to file for bankruptcy,” Bisping said.

“If he does that, well, then he’s going to get out of this. Fanmio will cease operations. They will be no more. We’ll never see a Fanmio event ever again. But ultimately, that will leave Nate Diaz’s case dead in the water,” the 45-year-old added.
Will Nate Diaz get the money he deserves? Bisping felt it would be a shame if he didn’t, particularly as Diaz fought tooth and nail against Masvidal.
