Paul dismissed the idea, questioning why he would give Canelo the payday. He added that critics would claim excuses like Canelo being too small or accusing Paul of fixing the fight even if he won. He said, “Why the f*** would I give him the payday? When I beat him it would be the same bulls*** and lies…that Canelo was too small and Jake Paul paid him off.”
There’s no doubt that despite proving his skills with consistent performances, Jake Paul continues to face criticism from fans and big names in the sport. While he once showed interest in fighting Canelo Alvarez, Paul has now dismissed the idea, saying the fight wouldn’t happen because, even if he won, critics would still accuse him of foul play.

Many in combat sports still don’t take Jake Paul seriously as a professional boxer, but UFC commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan disagrees. After Paul’s fight with Mike Tyson drew criticism, Rogan came to his defense, praising Paul’s strategy and dismissing the backlash as unwarranted.
During an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan shared his thoughts, expressing support for Paul’s methods and highlighting the clever approach he brings to the sport. He said, “I like Jake Paul, I think what he’s doing is genius….he’s making insane amounts of money, he’s having a great f*cking time, he’s a legitimate boxer.”
