There’s no denying it—Jake Paul has proven every doubter wrong since trading YouTube fame for boxing gloves. It’s like seeing a wildcard reality star unexpectedly win the whole competition. Aside from his debatable loss to Tommy Fury, Paul has dominated his opponents, giving him sky-high confidence in his skills. This is also a reason why he has been pushing for a fight with Alex Pereira for a while now. While discussing the potential fight, the 27-year-old claimed that he could easily defeat the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion in a boxing match.
Jake Paul recently had a chat with Adin Ross about several topics as he prepares for his fight against Mike Tyson. During their discussion, “The Problem Child” talks about how he is serious about the Pereira fight. Talking about this potential fight, Paul confidently asserts that he believes he can outclass Poatan.
He said, ”He has holes right, I mean Rountree Jr. rocked him, hurt him a couple of times to the body but didn’t follow up on it so if anything this fight showed me yes, Alex Pereira is great but I know I would beat him in a boxing match and I still would love to make that happen.”
Why Does Jake Paul Believe Alex Pereira Have Holes In His Fighting Style Despite Him Dominating Everyone?
Recently, at UFC 307, Khalil Rountree impressed everyone by going all out against Pereira. While the Brazilian superstar seemed on track for an easy victory, Rountree made sure to give him the fight of his life. There were several moments during the match when the Brazilian champion nearly faced defeat after being dominated by Rountree, like a boxer teetering on the edge of a knockout.
Talking about the same fight, Paul noted that Rountree Jr. exposed some of Pereira’s weaknesses, like his low punch volume and difficulty with body shots. While Paul recognizes that Pereira is a tough opponent in MMA, he believes boxing is a different game. Consequently, he thinks the pace and style of boxing will allow him to exploit Pereira’s flaws.
However, despite all the weaknesses, there is no doubt that taking down the former kickboxer and current UFC champion is not as easy as Paul thinks. Still, both fighters can earn solid money from this match, and it will attract millions of viewers. It will be interesting to see if this fight ever takes place.
