Ryan Garcia has shaken up the world with his performance against Devin Haney. The two locked horns inside the square circle at the Barclay’s Center last night.
It is worth noting that they fought each other six times during their amateur days, with both of them winning three fights each. Going into their seventh fight, Haney emerged as a big favorite.
While the majority of the people thought Ryan Garcia would not be able to survive Devin Haney, he not only survived but thrived against Haney. ‘KingRy’ was able to hurt Haney in the opening round.
While the latter seemed to gain control of the fight, Garcia secured three knockdowns in the later rounds to secure an emphatic victory. The fight ultimately went the distance, and Garcia won the majority decision.
In the process, Garcia also secured a major paycheck. While the confirmed purse has not been revealed, it is suggested that Garcia made close to $30 million for this fight.
