Anthony Joshua returned to the boxing ring last night against Francis Ngannou. The bout was hosted as a part of Riyadh Season in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and was scheduled for 10 rounds.
Joshua came to the fight on the back of his bout against Otto Wallin in December last year. ‘AJ’ secured an impressive stoppage victory over Wallin. On the flip side, this was Ngannou’s second pro-boxing matchup having previously fought Tyson Fury last year and lost via split decision.
When Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou entered the squared circle, many believed that Ngannou could potentially win the fight. However, that wasn’t the case as Joshua secured two knockdowns before knocking Ngannou out cold in the second round of the fight.

That said about the fight, fans have been wondering as to how much Anthony Joshua makes for his fight. It is worth noting that the official numbers are yet to be released. However, it was estimated going into the fight that Joshua would make around $50 million for the fight. On the flip side, Ngannou would take home around $20 million. Moreover, they will get additional pay-per-view shares as well.

Regardless of the outcome, the fight seems to have been fruitful for both Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou in monetary terms.
Eddie Hearn speaks on a potential Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight
A fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua has been brewing for quite some time now. The two have had multiple negotiations over the years but have failed to sign the dotted line. However, in the current scenario, we might be able to see the two fight.
Tyson Fury is set to take on Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight championship in May and the winner of the fight is billed to take on Anthony Joshua as of now. Speaking about it during the post-fight interview, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn urged Fury to beat Usyk and said:
“There’s a brilliant fighter down there called Tyson Fury. Please, please beat Oleksandr Usyk on May the 18th. Because I promise you this, you will get the biggest fight in the history of the sport when Anthony Joshua takes the undisputed championship… [Anthony Joshua] is a savage, a beast, the best heavyweight in the world and I cannot wait for him to beat Tyson Fury.”
That said, it will be interesting to see if Tyson Fury can beat Oleksandr Usyk and go on to fight Joshua in a fight that fans have been eager to watch for years.
