Artur Beterbiev is a knockout machine—20 fights, 20 wins, and every single one of them by KO. With this flawless record, Beterbiev is ranked as the world’s top light heavyweight by The Ring and ESPN. The Russian fighter has held the IBF light heavyweight title since 2017 and also holds two additional championship belts.
The Russian fighter began his professional career on July 8, 2013, with a TKO victory over Gabriel Lecrosnier. Since that win, he has never looked back, establishing dominance in the light-heavyweight division and securing all three major belts. He is a unified champion, holding the IBF title, the WBC title since 2019, and the WBO title since 2022.
The 39-year-old boxer shows no signs of slowing down as he sets his sights on another belt. Beterbiev is targeting Dmitry Bivol’s WBA light heavyweight title, with the two fighters set to face off this weekend on October 12.
The fight between the two Russian fighters will take place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Beterbiev’s dominant performances have earned him three major belts, but Bivol could pose his biggest threat yet.
How Artur Beterbiev Secured His Three Championship Belts?
Beterbiev claimed his first IBF light heavyweight title after defeating Enrico Kolling in July 2017. In what was a one-sided fight, Beterbiev controlled the bout, though Kolling refused to engage. He finally knocked Kolling down in the 12th round, securing his first championship belt.
After that, he went on a unification spree, taking the WBC and WBO titles by beating Oleksandr Gvozdyk and Joe Smith. He’s kept those belts locked down with one-sided wins over British fighters Anthony Yarde and Callum Smith.
