What a roller coaster year 2023 has been for Gervonta “Tank” Davis. And it appears as though that roller coaster is on a steep decent at the moment.
According to reports, Davis has been taken into custody and is set to serve time in jail after breaking the terms of his house arrest.
In early May, Davis was ordered to serve a 90-day sentence at the home of his trainer, Calvin Ford, as a result of a 2020 hit-and-run. However, Davis ended up moving into a Four Seasons Hotel before purchasing a $3.4-million high-rise penthouse in South Baltimore, where he has since been living.
Upon finding out that Davis was no longer living with Ford, Baltimore Circuit Judge Althea M. Handy ordered that the undefeated boxer be taken into custody. He will now serve the remainder of his sentence behind bars.
Back on November 5, 2020, Davis ran a red light in his Lamborghini Urus, hitting a Toyota Solara before crashing into a 7-Eleven fence. Four people were injured as a result of the crash, including a pregnant woman.
Davis’ attorney pleaded with the judge to reconsider her decision to send Gervonta to prison, claiming that his client hadn’t done anything wrong and was merely in need of a larger living space to accommodate his large security team.
“Blame me. Because he didn’t do anything wrong,” Davis’ lawyer Michael Tomko said. “He did what I asked him to do.”

Unfortunately for them, the judge wasn’t having it—which mean Davis will now be behind bars, less than two months after he scored perhaps the biggest win of his illustrious career when he knocked out Ryan Garcia in the seventh-round.
