Gervonta Davis is a baaaaad man.
As if he hadn’t already embarrassed Rolando Romero enough when he knocked him through the ropes during the sixth round of their WBA lightweight title fight last night at the Barclays Center. Apparently feeling as though he needed to rub a little more salt in the wound, Davis took to Instagram following the bout to poke some fun at his defeated opponent.
The 27-year-old undefeated champ posted a meme that featured a photo of a KO’d Romero laying on the ropes, on top of a photo of Martin Lawrence posing in a similar position during an episode from his ’90s sitcom “Martin.”
The meme had been making the rounds on social media following Davis’ latest win, and I guess he felt as though it was just too good not to post.
With the win, Gervonta improves to 27-0 in his professional boxing career, with an insane 25 wins via knockout. Surprisingly, he’s still only ranked as the third-best lightweight in the world according to ESPN’s latest rankings.
