Jake and Logan Paul have mastered the art of blending sports and entertainment, creating iconic matchups like Logan vs. Floyd Mayweather and Jake vs. Mike Tyson. These matchups are pure entertainment, especially considering that the Paul brothers have made a habit of defeating combat sports legends who are past their prime. Now, Francis Ngannou has been asked whether he would consider facing them, and while he’s open to the challenge, he’s made it clear that he would only entertain such a fight under one specific condition.
Talking to TMZ after his altercation with Jake following his win over Mike Tyson, Ngannou laughed off the idea of facing Paul, clearly unimpressed by the suggestion. He playfully suggested that maybe if both Paul brothers were in the arena at the same time, it could be worth considering. With a grin, Ngannou joked that the situation would require a bit more respect for him to even think about it, making it clear that he wasn’t impressed with the idea of fighting Jake alone.
“Put the two poor brothers in the cage and lock the cage, then yeah, maybe there’s something to do there,” he said. It sounds like Francis Ngannou is joking about stepping into a WWE-style showdown, like a Hell in a Cell match. He seems to be imagining himself as the Undertaker, ready to take on the Paul brothers, much like the legendary battles between Undertaker and Mankind.
His response was dismissive, showing little interest in the potential matchup, even as the Paul brothers continue to make waves in the combat sports world. For now, it seems the former UFC champ has firmly closed the door on any such fight, making it clear he’s not considering it anytime soon.
Francis Ngannou Sees Paul Brothers’ Fights as the Ultimate Entertainment, Like Netflix for Combat Sports
During the same interview, while Francis Ngannou doesn’t fully embrace the Paul brothers’ approach to fighting legends, he acknowledges that they are pure entertainers. He compares their fights to Netflix, where people go for entertainment. Ngannou points out that if their fights aren’t entertaining, then it’s unclear what else fans could be looking for in combat sports.
He said, “When you subscribe to Netflix, you go there for entertainment. And if this is not entertainment, I don’t know what you are looking for.”
