Francis Ngannou has opened up about his loss to Anthony Joshua this month.
The former UFC heavyweight champion returned to the squared circle earlier this month in what was his second fight inside the squared circle. For his first boxing fight, he took on Tyson Fury last year.
Francis Ngannou put on an amazing performance and even secured the fight’s lone knockdown. However, it wasn’t enough for him to win on the scorecards. Following his fight against Fury, his fight against Anthony Joshua was announced and many believed that he had a better chance of beating Joshua.
However, that did not seem to be the case. Joshua was able to put on an emphatic performance as he secured a vicious knockout victory in the second round of his fight against Ngannou.
Speaking about his loss, Francis Ngannou has recently opened up. Interestingly, the former UFC heavyweight champion has shared the blame for his loss with the management. During a recent appearance on The MMA Hour, he said:
“My pick-up time was 10:30 when I had to arrive at the arena and around 1 Anthony Joshua was still arriving…so I thought it was a bit weird.”
