Francis Ngannou can potentially compete for the boxing world title if he gets past Anthony Joshua successfully on March 8. WBC champion Tyson Fury validated the winner of AJ vs Ngannou to get a shot at the undisputed heavyweight title.
Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk is now scheduled for May 18 after the original date in February fell out. The winner of that fight will hold all four belts of the heavyweight division, something which was last done by Lennox Lewis.
Meanwhile, Tyson Fury recently revealed the broader picture after the undisputed fight is done. In a recent chat with Sky Sports, Tyson Fury gave his opinion on Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou and the aftermath of it.
He said, “Turki (Turki Al-Sheikh, chair of General Authority for Entertainment in Saudi Arabia) said the winner of this fight will get a shot at the winner of mine and Usyk’s rematch.”
“Me and Usyk have two fights lined up this year so the winner of that fight will get to fight the winner of this fight.”
While Tyson Fury hit the canvas against Francis Ngannou in October 2023, Anthony Joshua has the chance to make the ex-UFC champion look weak. That said, Tyson Fury is ready to face ‘AJ’ in the future.

Before Anthony Joshua vs Francis Nganou, Tyson Fury proposes Ultimate UK Clash
Tyson Fury is still open to facing Anthony Joshua in the ring. The fight was considered to be the one for the age a few years back. The hype declined after Oleksandr Usyk took AJ’s belt. However, Fury still wants the competition.
He said, “He’s been busted by Usyk a couple of times already, we all saw that,” Fury continued. “He just doesn’t have the guy’s number, leave him to me, the sad little man I’ll slay him, twice if he wants it, leave him to the GK (Gypsy King).”
“Then the Battle of Britain we can get on if he gets past this big fella (Ngannou), which is not a formality because he’s a big man who can punch. Knockout chaos is definitely a great game.”
The entire heavyweight division’s future depends on what Anthony Joshua does to Francis Ngannou. Then it will come down to two men- Fury and Usyk.
