Social media superstar turned boxer Jake Paul has suggested that he is the new Floyd Mayweather of the sport.
In just four years in the sport, Paul has managed to become one of the most notable fighters in the sport of boxing. He made his professional debut in 2020, and since then he has attained a professional record of 8-1. For the 10th bout of his career, he will take on Ryan Bourland this weekend.
Ahead of the fight, Jake Paul recently spoke about potentially getting in the ring against Carl Froch. Paul and the former professional boxer have gone back and forth on social media for quite some time. Interestingly, Froch has even suggested that he is willing to come out of retirement for a fight against ‘The Problem Child’.
During a recent chat with Boxing Social, Jake Paul suggested that he is like the new Floyd Mayweather in the sport of boxing and said:
“Of course he would, he wants payday. Of course, bro. All these guys will fight me. I’m the new Floyd Mayweather in the sport, seriously. Because I make my own decisions, I know how to get the business contracts done, I do the biggest PPVs, and I’m my own boss. So, I can move and go wherever I want. So yes, I am the new Floyd in this sport, and yes, everybody wants to fight me.”

Can Jake Paul beat Ryan Bourland this weekend?
As mentioned earlier, Jake Paul will be taking on Ryan Bourland this weekend. The highly anticipated bout will be an eight round cruiserweight contest serving as the co-main event for Serrano vs. Meinke. The bout will take place at the El Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Ryan Bourland boasts a professional record of 17-2, and is a former Golden Gloves champion. Moreover, Bourland has more boxing experience than any of his former opponents. While on paper ‘Rhino’ seems to be the toughest opponent Paul has ever fought, ‘The Problem Child’ is expected to get the job done with relative ease.
That said, it remains to be seen if Ryan Bourland can shock the world and get a victory over the heavily favored Jake Paul.
