Terence Crawford will be facing Israil Madrimov this coming Saturday, August 3 at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California. With Madrimov’s WBA super welterweight title on the line, the WBO interim super welterweight title will also be up for grabs. However, before this mega-boxing fight, former unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. made some shocking remarks about the results if Crawford ever faced Canelo Alvarez.
Errol ‘The Truth’ Spence Jr. has been absent from boxing ever since losing to Crawford on July 29, 2023. Now that Bud Crawford is eyeing a potential bout with Canelo, Errol made a prediction on who could win the potential bout.
A boxing journalist, Michael Benson, recently shared a post on X that had Errol’s comments on Crawford vs. Canelo. The Truth’s remarks read,
“If Crawford wants to challenge himself to be great, let him try to be great. I’m with it. I’d be going for Bud. I don’t know if he’d win or lose, but if anybody can pull it off, he can pull it off. He’s chasing greatness.”
Canelo and Crawford have emerged as two of the top pound-for-pound boxers in the last few years. While the Mexican boxer is currently competing in middleweight, Bud Crawford can still eye a potential bout with the former.

Tony Bellow, who is well-known for his WBC cruiserweight title reign, backed Crawford to win Madrimov’s title on August 3. In an exclusive interview with DAZN, the Englishman said,
“Madrimov is an excellent fighter with many great qualities, and you’ve heard Eddie [Hearn] talk about how good he is. He might have some good moments in the fight, but Crawford is on another level to most fighters, and I think he’ll win again.”
Well, Crawford certainly looks like a favorite entering the upcoming bout against Madrimov. But boxing is a game of uncertainties, and it will not be surprising if the latter manages to record the biggest upset win this Saturday!
